Privacy notice
Last updated 22 October 2026. This notice covers the Animatorly waitlist. It is written for the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Who we are
Animatorly is run by Phil of Phlack Visuals, in South Africa. Phlack Visuals is the responsible party for the personal information on this waitlist.

What we collect
If you join as an animator, we collect your email address, name, main discipline, the programs you select, your portfolio URL if you give one, your country, the time you consented, and the time you signed up.
If you join as a client, we collect your email address, name or company, the type of animation you need, rough timing, the time you consented, and the time you signed up.
The same email can be on the list once as an animator and once as a client. A second signup for the same role does not create a second record.
Each form has a field people are not meant to see. It is there to catch automated signups. Leave it empty. We do not use it as contact information.
The spam check is Cloudflare Turnstile. Turnstile receives a token, and may set a cookie, to decide whether the signup looks automated. We do not run our own analytics cookies on this site. We do not collect card numbers. Animatorly does not handle payment between a client and an animator.
Why
We use this information to write to you when Animatorly opens, when pricing is announced, and when the part you signed up for is ready. If you signed up as an animator, we may also use your discipline, programs, country, and portfolio link to see who is waiting, so the marketplace can open in a useful order.
The basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw it any time by emailing us. Withdrawing consent does not undo processing that already happened while you had agreed.
We do not sell personal information. We do not send your details to clients or to other animators. This waitlist is not the marketplace, and it is not a public profile.
Who processes it for us
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Signups are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. Cloudflare also runs Turnstile. Cloudflare may process this information outside South Africa, including in the United States. We use Cloudflare to host the site and to block spam. In POPIA terms, Cloudflare is an operator.

How long we keep it
We keep a waitlist record until you ask us to delete it, or until we no longer need the waitlist, whichever comes first. Joining this list does not open a paid account. If Animatorly later has accounts, that will have its own notice.
Your rights
Under POPIA you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for this waitlist.
Email [email protected]. Tell us the email address you used, and whether you signed up as an animator or a client, so we can find the right record.
You can also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa: inforegulator.org.za.
Children
This waitlist is for working animators and for clients hiring them. It is not aimed at children. Don't sign up on behalf of a child.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that matters, the date at the top will change. If we later want to use waitlist information for a new purpose, we will ask again before doing that.
